Restricted key systems in Sydney
A standard key can be copied at any hardware store for a few dollars. A restricted key cannot be copied without your written authority.
The problem with ordinary keys
You can control who you issue keys to. You cannot control who they lend them to, and you have no way of knowing how many copies exist. Every departing staff member, contractor and tenant is a copy you cannot account for.
Restricted keys close that gap. The blank is patented and supplied only to authorised locksmiths, and copies are cut only against a signed authority from a named person on your account.

Common questions
Can restricted keys really not be copied?
Not through normal channels. The blanks are patented and distributed only to authorised locksmiths, and we cut copies only against written authority from your nominated signatory.
What if we need extra keys urgently?
Your nominated person authorises it and we cut them. The check is a signature, not a delay of days.
Can we add restricted keys to our existing locks?
Often yes, by rekeying to restricted cylinders rather than replacing the hardware. We'll assess your locks and tell you.
Is it more expensive?
The keys cost more than blanks from a hardware store. Against the cost of rekeying a building because you can't account for copies, it's usually the cheaper position.
