Non-destructive entry first
In the large majority of house lockouts we can pick or bypass the lock and open the door with no damage at all. Drilling is a last resort, used only when a lock is already faulty or is a high-security type that cannot be picked, and we will always tell you before we do it.
If someone has told you a locksmith will need to drill your lock, get a second opinion. It is far less often necessary than people expect.

- Ring anyone who might hold a spare — a neighbour, family member or agent
- If you rent, contact your property manager, who may hold a key

Will you damage my door or lock?
In most cases there's no damage at all. If a lock is faulty or high-security and can't be picked, we'll explain the options and the cost before doing anything.
What identification do you need?
Something linking you to the address — a licence with that address, a lease, a rates notice or utility bill. It's the check that protects your home from someone else claiming to live there.
How fast can you get here?
Typically 30 to 60 minutes across most of Sydney, 24 hours.
Can you cut me a spare while you're here?
Yes. It's the cheapest time to do it and it prevents a repeat.
I'm renting. Can you still let me in?
Yes, with identification linking you to the address. Depending on your lease you may also need to inform your property manager, particularly if locks are changed.
