Programming is not the same as cutting
Cutting shapes the metal blade. Programming tells your car to accept the key's electronic identity. Most modern vehicles need both, and a key that has been cut but not programmed will turn in the door and do nothing in the ignition.

Common questions
Can I program a key fob myself?
A few older vehicles allow an on-board procedure with two working keys. Most modern cars need diagnostic equipment. Tell us your model and we'll say honestly which yours is.
Can you program a fob I bought online?
Sometimes. Quality varies a lot and some cheap fobs simply won't accept programming. We'll try, but we can't guarantee a part we didn't supply.
Will programming a new key cancel my old one?
Only if you want it to. If a key has been lost or stolen we can erase it from the vehicle so it no longer starts the car, which we'd recommend.
Do you need to take my car anywhere?
No. All programming is done at your vehicle.
