What we actually do

Most of our work is automotive. Keys lost, keys locked inside, keys snapped in ignitions, fobs that have stopped talking to the car. We carry blanks, cutting equipment and diagnostic gear in the van, which means the work happens at your vehicle instead of at a dealership three days later.

Alongside that we do a steady amount of residential and commercial work: lockouts, rekeying after a move, master key and restricted key systems for businesses that have lost track of who holds what.

How we price

We quote a firm total on the phone before we leave. If the price doesn't suit you, say so then — there's no charge for the conversation and no hard feelings.

What we won't do is quote low to win the job and then revise it upward once we've arrived and you have no realistic alternative. That practice is common enough in this trade that it's worth stating plainly that we don't do it.

When we say no

Occasionally someone calls about a vehicle or a system we genuinely can't help with. Some newer models are locked down in ways that require the manufacturer, and some restricted key systems are tied to whoever originally supplied them.

In those cases we say so on the phone rather than taking a call-out fee to arrive and tell you in person.

Identification

We ask for photo identification and proof of ownership before opening any vehicle or property. People occasionally find this irritating when they're standing in the rain. It's the same check that stops somebody else opening your car, and we'd rather be the locksmith that asks.
