Residential locksmith
Locksmith services for your home
Lockouts, rekeying after a move, repairs to failing locks and security upgrades. Non-destructive wherever possible, so your door survives the visit.
Letting a stranger into your home
Calling a locksmith means letting someone you have never met stand at your front door and open it. That is worth taking seriously, and it is why we turn up in a marked vehicle, carry identification, and are happy for you to check our licence before we start.
We also ask for identification from you. If someone opens your door without asking who you are, that is a reason to worry, not a convenience.
Rekey after you move in
When you buy or rent a home you inherit whatever keys the previous occupants had cut over the years, and you have no way of knowing how many exist or who holds them. Agents, tradespeople, former housemates, an ex-partner.
Rekeying changes the internal pins so the old keys stop working, without replacing the hardware. It costs less than new locks, takes about an hour for a typical house, and we can usually set every external door to one key while we're there.
Home services we offer
House lockout
We open your door without damaging it, at any hour, and we can cut you a spare while we're there.
Rekeying locks
Rekeying changes which key opens your lock without replacing the hardware. It is usually the cheaper and smarter option.
Lock installation
New locks fitted properly, to doors that were never quite square to begin with.

Common questions
Will you have to drill my lock?
Usually not. In the large majority of lockouts we pick or bypass the lock with no damage. Drilling is a last resort for faulty or high-security locks, and we'll always explain the cost before doing it.
What identification do you need?
Something linking you to the address — a licence with that address, a lease, a rates notice or a utility bill.
I'm renting. Can you change the locks?
You can be let back in with identification. Changing locks in a rental usually requires notifying your landlord or agent, and your lease may set conditions. We'll talk it through before doing anything.
Should I rekey or replace my locks?
Rekey if the hardware is sound and you just need the old keys to stop working. Replace if the locks are worn, damaged, or you want a higher security standard.
Can you fit smart locks?
Yes. We'll also be honest about which doors suit them and which don't — they're not the right answer for every entry.
How quickly can you get here?
Typically 30 to 60 minutes across most of Sydney, at any hour.
